You recently printed a letter from a bride who resented the fact that several uninvited people showed up at her wedding. According to our priest, a wedding in a church is a religious event. The church is a public building, and anyone can attend a religious service there. If the wedding were in a home or private hall, it would be different. Most people do not know that church weddings are open to the public. Only the reception is private and requires an invitation. Please tell your readers about this. -- Mrs. B. in Dallas

My pastor friends agree with you. People who have good manners, however, do not show up at a wedding without an invitation, no matter where it is.
